The season has begun and the green at Steventon resembles a cricket pitch. The ground moles are busy cutting, rolling, fixing and generally grumbling so cricket can be played.
Our newest ground mole, currently resting between roles mole has been a great addition. The new petrol can with a working cap being his most impressive contribution. But he has also proved a dab hand at rolling and is due a completion certificate from Engineer Mole.
Engineer mole continues to fix, bash and generally perform daily miracles to keep all the equipment in working order. He is very happy with his new tool box, as getting fitting more on his bike was proving difficult. His poorly claw is now fixed and we can expect to see engineer mole back bashing cricket balls.
Thank you to Matt Lindley for the loan of his Suffolk Punch. But after drinking said punch the moles were very poorly.
Sadly "fastest bolwer in the club circa 1979" mole has a damaged claw, which frees him from cricket duty and leaves plenty of time for general moling.
The moles have a new toy to play with, a shiney Sorrel roller, which will aid ground moling and improve pitch renevations.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
